Boat Restoration provides a cultural perspective of environment, tuition in workplace skills, OHS, team work, with an emphasis on traditional boat building techniques. The outcome will be restored vessels of various types for the purpose of further training and development of club activities. Sailing and Boat Handling. This can be an accredited Yachting NSW certificate. The club committee also offers boat handling experience for the club vessels. Art / Design program. This encourages people to design artwork onto vessels and other maritme objects with an opportunity to exhibit the finished pieces in a gallery at the end of each poject. The GPH certificate from TAFE. This certificate (General Purpose Hand) is the first, must get certificate for progress into commercial boating opoerations and leads people onto skipper qualifications. This hands on course includes such skills as fire fighting, survival at sea, boat knowledge and safety and survival at sea. This is also the certificate needed by crew sailing such races as the Sydney to Hobart event. |
